In 2010, the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation marks the 15th anniversary of the dedication of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial. Every day, we honor those who served, especially the 1,562 New Jerseyans who made the ultimate sacrifice. The Memorial is truly a place “To Remember, To Heal, To Honor.” Your support allows us to continue to properly pay homage to those men and women who sacrificed for our state and our country.
Your financial support also helps us provide quality programs at the Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center, the only one of its kind in the nation. Since the Center opened in 1998, we have welcomed more than 150,000 visitors. Each year, more than 9,000 students tour the Memorial and Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center, led by our capable Vietnam Veteran tour guides. Additionally, hundreds of New Jersey schoolteachers attend our academic forum to enhance their teaching of the Vietnam Era in the classroom. It is a dynamic learning facility for both young and old alike.
Our goals in the coming years include:
• Significantly increasing the usage of the Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center by high school and college faculty and students as the resource for Vietnam era education.
• Making the Memorial and Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center a destination of choice for tourists and tri-state area residents.
• Enlarging our Member and Donor base to ensure the sustainability of this New Jersey treasure.
• Attracting Board Members and Volunteers with diverse talents and a passion for our mission.
